BuddyPhones Kids Headphones Announces Partnership with Mussila
BuddyPhones Adds Value to Kids Headphones through Partnership with Award-winning Music Learning App Mussila
Jon Gunnar Thordarson the CEO of Mussila and Petur Olafsson CEO of BuddyPhones sign the contract.
Hong Kong (5 March, 2020) – BuddyPhones, the world’s leading brand of volume-safe kids headphones is launching a partnership with Mussila, an award-winning app that teaches kids how to make music. The two brands, which both originated in Iceland before expanding internationally, will collaborate on distributing the Mussila app when customers purchase a pair of BuddyPhones headphones. Both brands are aligned in bringing educational and meaningful products to kids in a fun and engaging way. The partnership also makes perfect practical sense as kids are recommended to use volume-limiting headphones when using the app to prevent noise-induced hearing loss.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 1.1 billion young people are at risk of developing hearing loss due to the unsafe use of personal audio devices and exposure to harmful noise levels, potentially leading to noise-induced hearing loss in one or both ears. “Statistics from the United States show that 1 in 8 kids between the ages of 6 and 19 already have some degree of -hearing loss that can be directly linked to turning up the volume too high,” says BuddyPhones CEO, Peter Hannes Olafsson.
Global Leaders in Kids Headphones
BuddyPhones combats the risk of noise-induced hearing loss by offering the widest collection of volume-limiting headphones designed for different ages, surroundings, and listening needs. This gives listeners the most options when it comes to protecting their hearing. BuddyPhones have garnered several design and innovation awards for their sophisticated approach to volume-safe kids headphones.

Because of its success, the app has won awards around the world, including the Parent’s Choice Award and most recently the Nordic EdTech award. In one trial, kids that used the Mussila app for 3 weeks scored 20.2% better on music theory tests than kids that did not use the app.
Jón Gunnar Þórðarson, Managing Director of Mussila, says “I’m delighted with the partnership as it means children can use high-quality headphones as they learn, play and create on our app while protecting their hearing.” The partnership adds value to both products and the brands expect it to be a successful collaboration for BuddyPhones, Mussila and a whole world of eager music learners.
